Creative Consultant: So, What Is It That You Do?

Most of the time I meet new people, I get asked the same question, ‘What is it that you do?’ which does not bother me in any way; on the contrary, it is an opportunity to expand the conversation and share why a creative consultant is an essential partner for businesses and organizations. With many job titles in the creative and tech industry, I understand; it can be challenging to comprehend what a person does. Rock Star Designer? Pixel Ninja? Creative Consultant? LOL! Yes, I know, our little ego—we love to sound and look different, but we also are passionate about making a difference!

As a creative consultant, I advise, guide, and support businesses, organizations, and individuals to help them improve their creative projects, strategies, and processes. You can think of me as your creative partner who will help you creatively present your products and services to connect with your audience. My toolbox consists of video production, photography, and digital design. Using these tools, I help you create content and digital assets that you can use for your marketing and promotional campaigns.

What are the benefits of working with a Creative Consultant?

Working with a creative consultant can offer a range of benefits, especially if you’re seeking to enhance your creative projects, strategies, or processes. Here are some key advantages:

  • Expertise: Creative consultants are often experts in their respective fields. Their knowledge and experience can provide valuable insights, guidance, and recommendations backed by industry best practices and trends.
  • Objectivity: Creative consultants can provide objective and unbiased feedback since they’re not deeply embedded within your business or organization. They can identify areas for improvement and suggest changes without being influenced by internal politics or biases.
  • Time and Resource Efficiency: Hiring a creative consultant can save time and resources by tapping into their specialized skills and knowledge. This can lead to faster project execution, as they can provide solutions and strategies based on their experience.
  • Custom Solutions: Creative consultants tailor their advice and recommendations to your specific needs. They take the time to understand your goals, challenges, and target audience, ensuring that their proposed solutions align with your objectives.
  • Access to Trends: Creative consultants stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies. You can benefit from their knowledge of current market dynamics and incorporate relevant trends into your projects.
  • Cost-Effective: Hiring a full-time employee with specific creative expertise can be costly, especially for short-term projects. Engaging a creative consultant allows you to access their expertise without committing to a long-term employment contract.
  • Problem-Solving: Consultants excel at identifying and addressing creative challenges. They can help you overcome roadblocks, refine ideas, and navigate complex situations more effectively.
